Library Facilities

Our College Library was established in 2009 with the inception of the Institution. The total area of the library is 1118 sq. meters consisting of a spacious reading hall, textbook section, reference section, periodical section, issuing counter, and digital library section. The library has a large stock of books, journals, and e-resources. The print collection includes textbooks, reference books, periodicals, and their back volumes. In addition to this, books related to general reading, competitive examination preparation, and soft skills are also available. The electronic resources like Elsevier, J-Gate, IEEE, CMIE, DELNET, ACM, and e-books package are regularly subscribed. Students and faculty access these resources within the campus as well as remotely. Under the institutional repository, the institution has a collection of e-content developed by faculty, NPTEL video lecture series, department publications, and last five years’ question papers of affiliating University. The software such as typeset, AutoLib, and Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA) are installed in the library and made available. The institution has also maintained a separate departmental library in each department.

Rules & Regulations

• Students should use the ID card for access.

• Bags, briefcases, handbags, parcels, aprons or other receptacles are not allowed inside the library. The library accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal belongings.

• Personal books are not permitted within the reading halls of the Library.

• Books, journals, etc. taken from the shelves for reading should be left on the tables after use.

• While leaving the library, students are required to show all books, folders, papers, etc. in their possession at the counter of the reading hall. Users may also be required to submit for inspection any receptacle carried out of the library.

• Any conversation / discussion is permitted only in group study area; silence should be maintained at all times in other areas and mobile phones should be kept on silent mode.

• Library books, journals etc. should not be defaced by underlining or scribbling notes in the margins, etc.

• Chairs and tables and other library equipment, fittings and furniture should not be marked, defaced, disarranged.

• Users should not reserve seats either for themselves or for others by leaving library material or personal property on a reading table.

• Loss or damage to library material on loan to a user should be reported immediately. The user must pay the cost of replacing a lost or seriously damaged book/article; in addition, he/she has to pay the fine.

• Smoking, eating, drinking (except water), sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the library.

• Copyright law should be strictly observed by all library users when making copies of library materials.

• Computers are for educational use only. The use of the Internet in the library is for reference work. Accessing unauthorized sites, playing games, chatting etc. are strictly prohibited.

• Users are required to vacate the library at designated closing times, upon hearing the alarm.

• Notices, handouts or related material may only be displayed in the library with the permission of the Librarian and in an approved fashion.

Rules for Membership

• All the users need to become member of the library to avail the library facility.

• For library membership students should produce the fee receipt of the current year against which they get library card and borrower cards to avail the library book borrowing facility.

• Staff members should fill up the library membership form for using the library facility.

• Visiting faculty can get the temporary membership of the library.

• The borrower's card remains valid for the period indicated on it, and the same can be renewed in every academic year.

• Users are requested to issue the books from the library as per the rules only.

• Late fine is charged for Late Return of the books.

Renewals/Reservations and Over Due charges

• For renewal, a user has to bring books to Circulation Counter. If a borrowed book is not on demand, then a user may renew the book one time only. The Library has the right to recall a book if the same is required by another user

• An over-due charge of Rs. 2 per day shall be charged against each book not returned within the due date.

Loss/mutilation/damage to documents by Students

• Borrowers are responsible for the documents they borrow.

• Documents lost, torn or damaged (tearing of pages, underlining, making notes, damaging of binding and the like) shall attract serious action including suspension of membership and/or replacement of documents concern. The lost/damaged document shall be replaced by the borrower with latest edition.
